Cuillin FM is pleased to be supporting a new annual writing competition organised by The Skye Literary Salon and The Isle of Skye Baking Company. This competition is open to anyone who can string a sentence together in either Gaelic or English. The theme for 2011’s competition is the Scottish Islands.
There are 4 categories you can submit entries to:
Gaelic poetry: judged by Myles Campbell
Gaelic short story/script/prose: judged by Morag Stewart
English short story/ script/ prose: judged by Roger Hutchinson
English poetry: judged by Mairi Kennedy
You can enter as many pieces of work in any of the categories as you would like to.
Short stories, prose and scripts should be no more than 3,000 words in length. Poetry can be up to 80 lines.
The closing date is 24th November 2011. The winners will be announced at the Skye Literary Salon in December 2011. The winners will read their work at The Skye Literary Salon in January, where they will be treated to supper (with wine) and then have the opportunity to read their work in a programme on Cuillin FM.
